What is ChopDog.com?
The Fun Way to Shop, Save, Earn & Give
ChopDog’s slogan is “Shop, Save, Earn, Give.” It seeks to do this by providing coupons to its registered members that will provide savings for online merchants and in-store purchases from local merchants. This fulfills the ‘shop’ and ‘save’ part. ‘Earnings’ come in the form of “Points.” Purchases made using coupons or bargain deals found on ChopDog will have subscriber IDs connected to them. When commission is generated upon a purchase (in the case of online purchases) or when coupon redemption revenue is generated some time after a purchase (in the case of in-store purchases), revenue received is awarded back to the customer in points. Points can be used toward the purchase of any merchant gift card or gift certificate by a participating ChopDog registered affiliate or merchant. The ‘Give’ portion of the site refers to the fact that ChopDog donates the same amount of points to any Non-Profit of the shopper’s choosing that is registered with ChopDog.
Shopper, Business Owner, Non-Profit, Distributor
There are four participants in ChopDog’s “economy”. The first is you, the Shopper. The Shopper is the end user of coupons redeemed at local merchants or through online purchases. He or she would use the coupons offered on the site to save money on the items they wish to buy or can just shop for bargains. The Shopper is awarded points from a coupon redemption or an online purchase that can be used toward the purchase of gift cards or gift certificates. The Shopper also designates a recipient Non-Profit that they wish to receive the same benefit.
The second is the Business Owner. The Business Owner is a “brick and mortar”/storefront proprietor. He or she is seeking to get ChopDog Shoppers to find their store by using the coupon offers they have uploaded to the site. Once these coupons are used in their stores, Business Owners notify ChopDog through the site (coupon redemption) and are billed a small fee per redemption. However, they too receive points from the coupon redemption. Business Owners can take advantage of web-site hosting services offered by ChopDog. They would pay an additional fee for these services and get priority placement in search queries. Business Owners can also function like Shoppers in that they can just as easily use ChopDog coupons to save on goods and services as well as designate a recipient Non-Profit for points.
The third participant is the Non-Profit. The Non-Profit could be a 501C3 Charity, not-for-profit organization such as a little league baseball team, etc. that has registered with ChopDog. When a subscriber enrolls with ChopDog.com they are required to pick a Non-Profit to receive matching rewards. Non-Profit funding results when a subscriber either purchases products from a ChopDog online store or uses a coupon at a local store. As a result of the purchase, ChopDog receives a commission. A portion of the company’s revenue is then deposited as points into the Non-Profit’s rewards account because the shopper picked them. Non-Profits can also act as Shoppers to earn an additional share when they use coupons at local merchants and make online purchases through ChopDog.
The fourth is the Distributor. The Distributor assumes responsibility of the Shoppers, Businesses and Non-Profits within a certain zip code. A Distributor’s responsibility is to increase the number of registered subscribers in his or her area. They are also to assist any Shopper, Business Owner and Non-Profit in better using the ChopDog site. The distributor is also paid a portion of the revenue received, from all coupon redemptions and commissions paid from online purchases, from all subscribers registered with their given zip code. The Distributor can also act just like a Shopper and designate a recipient Non-Profit for personal purchases made with ChopDog coupons. When Distributors make purchases, they also receive an additional revenue share in the form of points.
As you can see, ChopDog.com is a community of shoppers, businesses, non-profits and distributors working together for everyone’s benefit. How great is that?
Here is how ChopDog works to benefit your Non-Profit
When shoppers register with ChopDog, they are required to pick a Non-Profit.
Shoppers can buy products online or use coupons at local stores. Each purchase or coupon used has
an ID that allows ChopDog to track usage. Commissions on product purchases and redemption fees for coupon usage are then paid to ChopDog. ChopDog then shares this revenue with the Shopper and their Non-Profit of choice in the form of reward points. These points or “In-Kind” donations can be redeemed for gift cards which can be used for food purchases, linens, building supplies, travel, etc. The entire transaction is tracked and reported back to your organization.
Let’s look at an example for coupon usage:
- A shopper finds and prints out a coupon from ChopDog’s web site.
- The customer presents their ChopDog coupon to the merchant.
- After the sale is done, the merchant logs into his ChopDog account and uploads the shopper’s ID. A program processes it and the merchant is invoiced a coupon redemption fee. (Costs to redeem coupons range from $.50 to $100.00 depending on the dollar value of the sale).
- After the invoice process, both the shopper and their selected Non-Profit are rewarded with points just for using the coupon at their favorite local business. Any local business can participate from pizza shops to car dealers and they pay nothing to list coupons.
A similar process is done for online purchases, except the web site automatically inserts the shopper’s ID for tracking purposes. Now how simple is that? Think about how many people within or outside of your organization either use coupons or buy products online?
So, now you have a basic understanding of ChopDog.com but let’s summarize and go a little further. Here are the ways Non-Profit Organizations can earn points & cash to enhance their bottom line.
Matching donations from subscribers that designate your Non-Profit.
When a subscriber enrolls with ChopDog.com they are required to pick a Non-Profit. Subsequently your supporters can pick your organization as the designated Non-Profit for matching rewards. Non-Profit funding results when a subscriber either purchases products from a ChopDog online store or uses a coupon at a local store. In either case, the company receives revenue. The subscriber not only saves money but also earns points, which are matched deposited into your ChopDog rewards account because the shopper designated your Non-Profit to receive matching funds.
Matching donations from shoppers that ChopDog assigns to your Non-Profit
An individual can browse ChopDog.com to just shop and save without registering or designating any Non-Profit. If they don’t pick one of their favorite Non-Profits or it’s not listed, a Non-Profit will be selected for them by ChopDog. Consequently, any registered Non-Profit can pick up additional rewards from ChopDog as we assign “orphan shoppers” to your account. You see every purchase or coupon used will benefit a cause.
As a Non-Profit, you shop ChopDog stores to double your rewards.
Another way to earn more points is for your Non-Profit to do it’s shopping through ChopDog.com. Just utilize the coupons at local merchants and make online purchases. How does it work? When you complete the registration process you can pick yourself as the Non-Profit. Selecting yourself as the favorite Non-Profit will result in doubling your points
Non-Profits get a “Donate Now” website at no cost.
As a charitable organization you’ll receive a free “Donate Now” website. This one to two page site will allow anyone to donate money with a credit card or check to your Non-Profit. Or, money can be specifically donated to one of your organizations sub accounts, such as the benevolence fund, the arts, ministry or even to the football team or cheerleading squad. Up to 99 sub accounts can be created to have their own “Donate Now” websites. Your Non-Profit receives 90% of the funds donated. The remaining 10% is used to cover credit card processing fees, website hosting and administration fees. There is no monthly fee even with no activity.
It is easy to get the word out to your supporters.
We even give you our “Good News Toolbox” that contains easy to use customizable templates. ChopDog supplies website banners of various sizes to incorporate into your website. Half page and or full-page flyers created for you to print out and distribute to supporters. A web friendly announcement for e-mail distribution. Varying sizes of ads for print media such as your monthly newsletter or weekly bulletin. With these different forms of “creative” ChopDog makes it as easy as possible to get the word out. The faster and easier it is to get the word out the more your Non-Profit and supporters will benefit.
